Death Unseen from The Wild Rose Press

Navajo Tribal Policeman Lance Logan discovers his cousin’s body brutally mauled and senses there’s more to the death than it appears. His intuition leads him from Four Corners, New Mexico, to Phoenix, Arizona, where he finds himself embroiled in another murder case.

Carly Carlton could be considered an ordinary woman except for two traits she tries to keep hidden—clairvoyant powers and the ability to experience death in dreams. Her talent to see beyond the veil of reality, as she and Lance try to find a killer, helps to soothe his embittered heart and softens his revenge.

Unbeknownst to either, Lance carries the DNA key coveted by a maniac intent on creating a human with animalistic killing tendencies. But the madman’s plan doesn’t include Carly’s expanding talents or her unconditional love for Lance. She will do anything to save him…even if it means sacrificing her own life.

Carly coughed. The stranger’s attention left the contents of her store and zeroed in on her.

Now she was free to study his face without shadows. He held his chin high, a sign of a proud man—also indicative of a warrior. The thought sent a mental shiver throughout her body. This man was in her store for a reason and it wasn’t going to be a visit of pleasantries or a quick purchase.

Though she couldn’t see the color of his eyes through the sunglasses he wore, she ventured a guess they were dark and sharp as a hawk’s—not about to miss a thing. His jean jacket fit his body snugly. The faded shade of blue was a perfect combination to go with the prominent large turquoise, red coral, and silver belt buckle attached to a unique hand-carved leather belt. Not at all like the expensive Navajo Concho belts sold in her store.

A vision jumped into her mind. A warrior ran toward her. The early morning sun, barely cresting the horizon, encased his powerful body in a golden hue—streaked with pale yellows, light ambers, and burnt oranges. His thick straight hair glowed like fire and the loose strands flamed behind his massive bare shoulders. His thighs, sheathed in faded, tight fitting jeans, blurred with his iron-steeled muscles—twisting and bunching with each long extended stride.

Carly inhaled sharply. This man was not only the warrior she’d been warned about, he’d been sent to her for a specific reason. Why?

Right on time.  The man she called Mr. Sex God strolled through the Traveler's Club doorway as if he owned the place.  With slow masculine grace, he studied the seating area as he always did when he arrived, as if he was deciding who would benefit from his presence.  Or was she misreading him and he wanted to sit where he could get the most work done?  Normally, all he did was work.

When he turned and chose her section of the club, her pulse shot to a higher notch, and her blood practically sizzled in her veins.  Sex God described him perfectly.  The first instant she'd seen him, four months ago, intuition had told her he was a man who knew what to do with a woman.  From that moment on, she couldn't stop daydreaming of his skillful hands and mouth roaming her body, inflaming her senses.

Even more maddening, for the past two months his face and body kept her up at night, and she couldn't stop envisioning what it would be like in bed with him.

Her cheeks heated at the thought of what he could do to her.  Her breathing quickened as she shifted in her seat and straightened her shoulders.  As much as she wanted to fan her face, Bree forced herself to remain still.  Nonchalantly, she lifted her iPad and pretended to read, mentally urging her blond Adonis to change his routine and sit near her this time.  To her shock, he actually went beyond his normal range and headed in her direction...as if contemplating a new area to sit.  Had he read her mind?
